About
A Designer’s Dublin is a view of Ireland’s capital city through the eyes of Scott De Buitléir and Alison Ní Dhorchaidhe, two young people with a eye for design and style.
Scott De Buitléir:
Scott, by profession, is a radio host and freelance journalist. He became interested in design as a child when he read books about Feng Shui, and asked his parents to redecorate his room in an Oriental style for his 16th birthday. His passion for Nordic design, however, was inspired when he visited Copenhagen, Denmark at the age of 17 for a school project. While constantly searching for the idea of a modern Gaelic style of design, Scott is greatly inspired by Scandinavian living.
Alison Ní Dhorchaidhe:
Alison is a postgraduate student and tutor in UCD, currently completing her Masters degree in Modern Irish. She has always had a passion for aesthetics, be it in artistic, literary or musical terms. A woman of eclectic tastes, Alison strives to fuse the traditional with the modern, the local with the worldly, in order to make something new and relevant to modern living.
